A charming old country house with sloping ceilings and wooden beams in wonderful, countryside nature and with lots of land. The house is in need of renovation, but here it is fully possible to live under the renovation process. Perfect for someone looking for a genuine, Sicilian country living and wants to do a lot of the work himself!
Price: 70,000 euro.

The house is more than 100 years old and has survived without being ruined by ”renovations”. The main building has 52 plus 52 sqm and has downstairs a large living room and upstairs two large bedrooms. To the house is later on attached a newer part of 15 sqm with kitchen and bathroom. In addition here is an old stable and a magazine.
The house has municipality water and electricity (should be replaced to newer standard though). This means that even if the house is in need of renovation, it is fully possible to live in it during the renovation process, and to take some time to renovate the house up to its full potential.
The added part of 15 sqm with kitchen and bathroom needs a new roof as the roof existing today is more to be considered a temporary solution. Here is also a wood-fired oven which is working just fine. The result after renovation will be a large, rustic country kitchen that fits into the whole house.
The house sits in 10,000 sqm of lands, overgrown with different kinds of fruit trees and olives.
The house is located eight kilometres from Caccamo, along the road to Roccapalumba (15 kilometres away). Here the landscape is wonderfully beautiful! Mountains and cultivated land, real Sicilian countryside. The road is sparsely trafficked, but in a very good condition, it will take you to the medieval town Caccamo in 10 minutes. You reach the coast within 15 kilometres.
It is hard to find antique houses in the countryside who have not either been abandoned too long and thereby have more or less turned into ruins, or have been ruined by poor renovations. This is a very good opportunity to, at a reasonable amount of money, acquire a true, Sicilian country-side house!
About Caccamo
This charming City is located 42 km from Palermo, on a western spur of Monte San Calogero, in the San Leonardo Valley. Situated above a large lake, which in the Summer time plays host to many water sports, the town has ancient origins. The name, which is derived from ‘caccabe’ [horse-heads], may have been given by the Carthaginians who took refuge here after their defeat at Himera in 480 BC.
The most characteristic monument in Caccamo is, without any doubt, the Norman Castle, which towers majestically above a sheer-dropping rock. The Castle is solid and compact in appearance, a typical fortified building with continuous curtain walls, bastion and battlements.
Caccamo is in easy reach of the main motorway and is ideally located to visit some of the most beautiful beaches on the Island. Although a charming City in its own right and fast becoming an international tourist destination, the famous holiday resort of Cefalu is a short drive away.
